Some highlights from our shop:
One of the most popular items from the Museum’s Shop is the replica 1916 Proclamation. In honour of the printing of the Proclamation, retired printers at the Museum, printed a commemorative replica. These copies are printed actual size on the Museum’s Wharfedale Stop Cylinder Press – the type of machine used to print the original and on a similar paper stock. A follow-up element to the gift could be a tour of the Museum, where we exploring the challenges of printing the original in secrecy with limited resources.

New print release, Grand Stuff Response
The Museum invited Dublin-based letterpress printshop, One Strong Arm, to respond to Museum’s new exhibition, ‘Grand Stuff: Label Art from Ireland.’ Dave Darcy of OSA designed a set of fictitious typography-inspired companies, products, and brands borrowing from the visual language of the exhibition, all highlighting some of the lesser-seen glyphs, punctuation, sorts and symbols. This three-colour letterpress print is limited to an edition of 70, on a 250gsm Favini Crush (ecological) paper.

Deluxe Edition Set of Blot’s Most Marvellous Historical Guide to Printing Books
This set comprises of a deluxe binding of the book and an accompanying portfolio of two letterpress printed images of the characters Blot and Grainne Mhaol. The prints and sides of the book have been printed letterpress by Mary Plunkett at the Museum, from illustrations by Jennifer Farley. There is a limited edition of 20 copies of the set – all copies are signed by the author and illustrator.

New project, Short Stories in Print
To celebrate its 25th anniversary, the National Print Museum commissioned Short Stories in Print, A limited-edition collection of unpublished work by some of Ireland’s leading writers. Six household names and internationally renowned, prizewinning Irish writers Sebastian Barry, Roddy Doyle, Anne Enright, Christine Dwyer Hickey, Claire Keegan and Colm Toibin, in response to an invitation from the Museum, have written original, unique pieces. These beautiful and handsomely printed broadsides by master printer Sean Sills are now available as a signed, limited-edition portfolio of broadsides
